“For 40 years, the festival has had the ambition to invite world-famous artists and ensembles to Luxembourg as well as promoting young, talented composers,” says Benedikt Fohr, artistic director (classic). “The Echternach Festival, located just 30 kilometres from our capital, was important at the time because the Philharmonie did not yet exist in Luxembourg and there were far less cultural institutions.”  Today, the festival offers something for every generation. “The main focus points are of course the classical symphony and chamber music concerts with international stars,” says Fohr.
