Over the last quarter of a century, the global hospitality and tourism business has evolved regarding managerial professionalism. Given the industry employs an estimated nine per cent of the world’s population and continues to attract major investment, that evolution is perhaps not surprising. Students at the Luxembourg and Belgian campuses of BBI, an elite provider of higher education in this field, study to play their part in the continuing development of the sector. “The hospitality industry has moved on from mom-and-pop hotels and tour operators to a far more professional approach,” explains Hans de Meyer, director of marketing and business development at BBI’s Luxembourg base.
